Pinky Rae
Pinky Rae was only two years old the first time she was handed a pencil and the Lubbock native has been an artist ever since. After taking art classes at Texas Tech while still in high school, Pinky began tattooing in 2007 at Liquid Ink in Lubbock. She eventually moved to Austin where she worked with, and studied under, the legendary tattoo artist Roni Zulu.
Particularly passionate about animals, Pinky volunteered for years at Buck Wildlife Rescue in Ingram, Texas. She has personally rescued chickens, doves, pheasants, pigeons, pigs, rams, sheep, cows, dogs, and roughly 20 goats.
Pinky’s other artistic mediums include painting, murals, and digital art; her hobbies include “rouge taxidermy” (cleaning and preserving collected bones), and wet specimens.
After working at an all-inclusive, femme-owned, LGBTQ friendly tattoo shop in Saint Petersburg, Florida (owned by the amazing Pepper Raefin), Pinky and her Siberian husky, StarFox, recently moved back to Austin.
Though deeply versed in many varieties of tattooing, Pinky Rae specializes in fantasy realism, fantasy creatures, neotraditional style, animal portraits, and custom personalized projects.
